Stressed Erics iRC page ..... For those who are in the dark, IRC is a text based real time chat line. You can transfer files of most types - MP3 seem the most common tho ... It is also a safe-ish protocol - safe if you don't have backdoors or trojans on your PC ! - so my advice is get a good anti-virus before even thinking of starting on IRC and make sure you are clean ! With some of the trojans like Sub7 you can lose total control of your PC, and hackers can do almost anything they want - get passwords, credit card numbers, personal details, etc .... Ok, IRC or internet relay chat is really addictive so beware And, as in all walks of life you find nice people, nasty people, and some really f$cked up people ! The best advice is to be carefull, don't give out personal details, phone numbers, etc (there are some real whackos out there !) Anyway Here is a list of some common things you will see on iRC ...
